Westwood Show Jumping Stables
Training is a six day a week service composed of lessons, schooling, exercise and care. This also includes full service for grooming and tacking up before and after scheduled riding sessions, as well as regular laundry. Large items, such as winter blankets will be billed.
Care is a six day a week service offered to horses not in training.
This service does not include riding by staff, but includes exercise and basic groom care twice per day. This service is offered only to horses that are in a “lay up” situation and are unable to be ridden and trained on a daily basis.
Lessons are available to horses and riders not in our monthly training program. These lessons may be private or group depending on scheduling needs.
Schooling rides are available to horses not in our monthly training program.
Rancho Riding Club is responsible for feeding alfalfa, timothy or grass hay three times per day. Westwood will provide individualized supplemental feed, charged at cost basis. Nutraceutical supplements and vitamins will be purchased through our veterinary care provider and charged directly to the individual clients by the veterinarian.
Body clipping services can be arranged and will be the financial responsibility of the client. We would prefer that you pay the jobber directly at the time of the service request, but in some circumstances, Westwood will bill the client for a 20% up charge.
COMMISSION ON SALES, PURCHASES and LEASES:
There will be a minimum commission base of 12% charged on all sales, leases and purchases. This fee will be based on the negotiated price of each individual horse.
WESTWOOD requires that all clients provide us with a completed and signed Training Agreement and Student Release form before any services will be provided.
All accounts payable are due on the 15th of each month and after that date are considered past due and will become subject to finance charges.
ON THE ROAD:
This service includes full grooming and care, as well as stall cleaning service. Nightwatch will be billed separately when offered. This service charge is in effect on the day that the horses leave their home facility and will be charged daily including the day they return home.
Any additional employees (not on our regular payroll) who are hired for horse shows will be paid on a per diem basis. This expense will be divided equally between the clients attending the horse show and will be billed on a cost basis
TIPPING OF GROOMS:
Tipping is not mandatory, however, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED at a rate of $10.00 per horse/per day.
This charge applies to horses and riders who are not in our monthly training program. This fee is for coaching an individual horse/rider combination, or for schooling a horse in a non-competitive situation.
There is a charge that pertains to horses currently in our monthly program.
There is seperate charge that pertains to horses who ARE NOT currently in our monthly program.
In addition to the above riding charge, owners will be assessed 10% of any prize money won in “special” classes including, but not necessarily limited to Classics and Grand Prix.
FEED/BEDDING/ TACK ROOM SPLITS:
All horse show charges listed above will be divided equally among all of the horses attending that show. Whenever possible, these charges will be split by the horse show office and charged to the individual clients by the horse show management.
CURTAIN ROOM SETUP:
The charge for the show tack rooms and office, as well as set up, will be divided equally among all clients attending the horse show.
HOTEL and TRAVEL:
All expenses incurred by Westwood staff during the duration of a competition will be divided equally among all clients attending the horse show.
Transportation arrangements will be made by Westwood and will be charged to the client by the independent carrier. These charges are payable upon receipt and accounts must be at a current status to maintain privileges.
Braiding arrangements will be made by Westwood and will be charged to the client by the independent contractor. These charges are payable upon receipt, but no later than the second to the last day of each individual competition.
“Nightwatch” arrangements will be made by Westwood when available and is included in the day fees.
Whenever possible, medication will be purchased directly from the veterinary care provider and will be billed directly to the client by the veterinarian. In other circumstances, medication will be provided by Westwood and charged to the client on a cost basis.
All fees for special trips for competition or sale purposes will be negotiated on an individual basis. There will be a charge of $100 per day for special trips when traveling for one horse.
IN ORDER TO ENSURE ACCURATE and TIMELY ENTRIES it is requested that all clients provide Westwood with a check payable to horse show management prior to the closing date of entries. Any entries that are not accompanied by a check and require that Westwood close out in the horse show office are subject to a $50.00 service charge.
