Born in beautiful British Columbia Philip started riding at a very early age and he has never stopped. He has been training horses for over 30 years and is regarded as one of the best horseman in the country.  His experience, poise and class has earned him respect and admiration throughout the equestrian community.  As far as show jumping is concerned he is among California’s elite professionals.

    Philip started Westwood  Show Jumping Stables over 10 years ago.  Before that he worked for 20 years with Show Jumping Hall of Fame inductee Hap Hansen.  Philip’s training credentials are impeccable.  He has trained countless Champions nationally in both hunter and jumper divisions as well as producing many top Junior and Amateur riders.  He is also a seasoned International Grand Prix rider and has represented the U.S. on the Nations Cup Team.

    Presently Philip Cillis and the Westwood Team are  catering to a successful group of clients competing on the A show circuit.

He enjoys working closely with his clients to achieve their goals.  Philip runs a very successful business at The Rancho Riding Club with the help of his very capable assistant Jenn Marun.

Because of his ethical nature he has developed long standing relationships with his clients.  Philip’s positive and trusting outlook encourages loyalty in his customers.
